The very first InStyle Awards was a seriously impressive bash. See the red carpet dress-off, as well as the 2015 winners...

The very first US InStyle Awards was always going to be pretty great, so we weren't surprised when the stream of celebrities arrived at the Getty Centre in LA.

The evening, honouring the ‘actors, actresses, and artists whose style defines the red carpet, as well as the image makers behind the scenes’, was a red carpet dress-off with stars wearing the best of the new season.

We're always on the look out for red carpet hits and the inaugural evening did not disappoint. Gwyneth Paltrow wore the most classic look of the night, in a plunging velvet Schiaparelli dress with glittering neck detailing, to pick up her Style Icon Award, while cool girl and Best Dressed Breakthrough Zoe Kravitz went for a totally different look in a Calvin Klein slip dress.

Unexpected pals Selena Gomez and Michelle Williams hugged it out on the red carpet in catwalk looks designed by Nicolas Ghesquiere – who picked up the Designer Of The Year gong - from the Louis Vuitton SS16 show.

Kim Kardashian stole the show in a white Valentino cape dress which showed off her growing baby bump, with her hair in a perfectly-centred parting. As we learned from her 35 life lessons she shared on her 35th birthday: ‘A perfectly centered part takes time, but it's worth it.’

The beauty looks from the evening were particularly fabulous - natural, radiant, glowing - everything you'd want your make-up to be. The woman behind it all? Charlotte Tilbury, who was named Best Make-Up Artist Of The Year, prepped Kim, Miranda Kerr, Alessandra Ambrosio, Olivia Culpo and Selena Gomez.
