Saoirse Ronan is one of those actresses hallmarked for greatness, and it's been that way for kind of a long time now.
Ever since she burst onto our screens as the brilliant yet troubled 13-year-old Briony Tallis in Joe Wright's 2007 film adaptation of the Ian McEwan novel Atonement (a performance that earned her several award nominations, including an Oscar... impressive) Saoirse Ronan has established herself as one of the most promising and talented young actresses working today.
Born in the Bronx to Irish parents, Saoirse moved back to Ireland when she was just three years old. Interesting fact? Saoirse actually auditioned for the part of Luna Lovegood in the 2007 Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, a role she wound up losing out to Evanna Lynch.
Post-Atonement Saoirse has gone on to star in a variety of movies, all of which have earned her various accolades and industry praise. Films such as Hanna, The Lovely Bones and Byzantium whilst dividing critics, have all highlighted the 22-year-old's exceptional on-screen presence.
But it was 2015's Brooklyn that launched Saoirse back into the Hollywood limelight, and it's becoming abundantly clear that the actress has left that 'child star' tag very much behind. During her press tour for Brooklyn she emerged not only as a potential Best Actress nominee, but also as a stylish and effortlessly chic young woman, wearing designers like Christopher Kane and Burberry to the world's most glam red carpet events.
The future is a promising one for Saoirse Ronan. No doubt she's already got another slew of projects in the pipeline, and we can't wait to see in which direction the young actress moves next. Either way, she has both the acting and the fashion world at her feet.
