Following news of the singer's untimely death, aged only 57, the world is in a state of shock. Status feeds are crammed with pictures of Prince famously shredding his guitar, profiles have been changed to blocks of bold purple colour, and radio stations across the country (and the universe maybe? MTV halted it's programme schedule of naff reality TV and started airing music again, honouring the singer's legacy with non-stop Prince videos. It's logo changed from black to purple. Stars took to social media to openly grieve. Justin Timberlake (who famously shuns social media as a rule) penned a lengthly message via Instagram to his hero so hearfelt and emotional that it's actually a bit difficult to read without welling up. Fans, celebrities, and even the US president Barack Obama are in mourning dress today.
