Nicole Scherzinger's reign as Grizabella in London's latest run of the hit show Cats: The Musical may have come to an end back in February but her presence is still being very much felt across the musical industry thanks to her heartfelt, powerful performance.
And it seems whatever angst that was going on behind-the-scenes in her personal life that let Nicole really express herself on-stage was put to very good use, as this news proves.
Taking to her Instagram account, the 36-year-old songstress revealed an amazing announcement to her 1.4 million-strong following that we think she whole-heartily deserves.
Posting a snap of herself made-up as her on-stage persona, Nicole confirmed that she has been nominated for a very high-profile and special award for her stint on the boards.
'Thank u @OlivierAwards for my nomination for Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a Musical! So honored and grateful. Also congrats to#CatsMusical for the nom as well!'
That's right, Scherzy fans; Nicole's hard work on-stage has earned herself a nom for a renowned Olivier Award which, if you're not all that into Broadway or theatre is, in short, a VERY big deal. It means that in the extremely tough world of the live stage, Nicole has proved her worth as an actress and singer all at once in what could now be one of her career defining roles.
No doubt, this exciting news is exactly what Nic needs after a couple of very difficult months. We, for one, couldn't be happier for the former Pussycat.
Major congrats, Nicole — we've got our claws crossed for the win...
