We first met (read: saw on the Sidebar Of Shame) Amal Alamuddin in October 2013 when she started dating The Silver Fox – George Clooney.
The usual questions ensued – who is she? Are they for real? The answers are pleasing – she’s an incredibly successful lawyer, activist and author, who specialises in public international law, human rights, international criminal law and extradition… Not your usual run-of-the-mill actor arm candy – an anomaly that hasn’t gone unnoticed. Presenting the Golden Globes 2015, Tina Fey said ‘[Amal is a] human rights lawyer who worked on the Enron case, an adviser to Kofi Annan on Syria and was appointed to a three-person commission investigating rules of war violations in the Gaza strip […] So tonight her husband is getting a lifetime achievement award.’
And yuh – they’re for real, going strong more than a year on from their amazing Venice wedding in September 2014 and they look more loved-up than ever.
The ever stylish Amal – workwear goals, anyone? – seems happy (and most importantly – not in awe of) George, and he seems pleasingly impressed by his very impressive and beautiful wife.
In fact, he won’t stop talking about her – and it’s always MEGA cute. That one time he said he ‘feels stupid’ when talking to Amal, and all those times he’s talked about just how great she is.
Not only because they Facetime when they’re apart, but they do sound like a pretty ‘normal’ couple – in the best possible way – albeit, a couple with a couple (or six) more zeros on the end of their bank balance.
Here are the times they were just the best...
