Williamson returns to London

Williamson returns to London

Matthew Williamson will show his spring/summer line in London to mark the 25th anniversary of fashion week.

Hot on the heels of the announcement that Burberry Prorsum will show at London Fashion Week in September comes news that Matthew Williamson will follow suit with his spring/summer 2010 line. And judging by the big surprise he gave us four seasons ago when returned to the capital for his 10th anniversary - putting Prince on the catwalk - we're in for a serious treat!

The British designer has been showing in New York since February 2002 but has decided to return home in honour of London Fashion Week's 25th birthday. The designer said: "We were so impressed with the momentum that's building and the BFC's plans to mark the anniversary that we decided to show in London. It's a landmark season for London Fashion Week and we want to join in the celebrations."

Despite his Stateside move, Williamson remains the darling of the London fashion scene, claiming local starlets including Sienna Miller and Thandie Newton as his close friends, fans and muses. We look forward to seeing them in the front row in September!
