Although the Fifty Shades of Grey film has yet to hit cinemas (only a week-and-a-bit to go though, but who's counting...), already we can't imagine anyone other than Jamie Dornan playing the part of Christian Grey.
However, things could have been very different if one of the world's most successful male models, David Gandy, had accepted the part…
Yep, that's right, the muscly model was approached by the film's producers to play the whip-wielding Mr Grey in the film – and we can definitely see why. The biceps, the facial hair, the female fan base. However, David politely declined the role, leaving the path free for Jamie.
'It just didn't feel right, in any way,' David said of being offered the part. 'And in my gut, it felt right to say no.'
But it turns out this wasn't the first time Hollywood has come-a-knocking on Mr Gandy's door.
'I was offered Fifty Shades of Grey, 300: Rise of an Empire, Hercules, which a lot of people probably would have taken as actors, but I'm in the fortunate position where I like what I'm doing. I don't feel the need to act,' he told Square Mile magazine.
However, that's not to say the model will never grace the silver screen – he just wants to be offered the right part.
'I know if you're in a successful film, your status changes overnight. And I'm not saying I wouldn't. I've read many parts that I'd love to play — things that I've chosen, though, not things that I've been sent. Critics and literary experts aren't fans of Fifty Shades of Grey, but I respect it for what it is. But was it right for me? No.'
