Kate Middleton, Prince William, Prince Harry and the Queen

It's big news that Kate Middleton has gone into labour, and with no more official announcements expected until the arrival of the Royal baby, we look to who will be the very first to find out before it is traditionally released to the public.

The first people to be informed about the Royal boy or girl's arrival will be the Queen, fellow senior members of the Royal family and Kate Middleton's family, should they not already be at the hospital.

Kate Middleton's medical staff - Royal gynaecologists Marcus Setchell and Alan Farthing - will sign a bulletin which a Royal aide will then take from St Mary's Hospital, Paddington, to Buckingham Palace under police escort.

The bulletin will then be displayed on an ornate easel in the forecourt of the palace, where the public will be allowed to find out the news in the traditional way - before the announcement will take to the internet as it's shared on Facebook and Twitter and announced to the media.

Kate Middleton was driven to the Lindo Wing by Prince William before 6am this morning, where she will be giving birth in the same wing where William and brother Prince Harry were both born.
