Kate Middleton and Prince William gave the Queen and Prince Charles a break last night, as they made their first appearance at the Royal Variety Performance.
And we're sure the Duchess, who is now 16 weeks pregnant with her second child and displaying the teeniest of baby bumps, made millions of girls very jealous when she got to shake hands with the pop phenomenon and boy band wonder that is Harry Styles.
So what did the One Directioner say to Kate when they got to shake hands? 'I said congratulations on the bump,' Harry told the Daily Mail, adding that Kate 'didn't look bumpy.' What a charmer.
The Duchess shunned her usual eveningwear designers Jenny Packham and Temperley for one hailing from across the pond: Diane von Furstenberg.
Although the label might be different, the style was certainly familiar. Kate loves a spot of black lace, and this elegant maxi dress with three quarter length sleeves was the perfect choice for a chilly night in London.
As well as One Direction, royal favourite Ellie Goulding (the singer performed at Kate and Wills' wedding), Ed Sheeran and Mick Hucknall, among others, also all took to the stage to entertain the Cambridges for the evening.
This was Kate's second outing of the week, after her visit to a SportsAid athlete workshop wearing a dress by Goat which sold out, unsurprisingly, within a matter of minutes.
While her £785 Diane von Furstenberg number might not prove so popular with the masses, we're pleased to see Kate back on form after her battle with morning sickness and we can't wait to see what else she'll be pulling out of the wardrobe in the months to come. Question is, will she rework some of her old maternitywear pieces, or will we see an entirely new Kate?
