Kate Middleton and Prince William have completed day two of their royal tour of New York, and no-one, not even America's own royal couple Beyonce and Jay Z, can keep their cool. Even the Empire State Building got the Brit treatment, being lit in the colours of the Union Jack.
The Duke and Duchess finished their first full day in the Big Apple yesterday with a stop off at the Barclay Center to watch a basketball game, where they were sat directly opposite regular basketball attendees Bey and Jay Z. So, naturally, there had to be an introduction at the end of the game.
We're not sure what was said at this coming together of two of our favourite power couples, but all of them seemed to be in high spirits. In fact, we can't remember a time we've seen Jay smiling so much. The man's positively beaming at the future king.
Wearing a grey coat, skinny black jeans and black heels Kate Middleton looked just a tad out of place courtside (well, what did you expect? A pair of New Balance?), but Wills meanwhile appeared totally at home in his checked shirt and suede shoes.
Their trip to the basketball came after a long day spent carrying out royal duties in and around New York. While William headed to Washington to visit President Obama to talk about the illegal wildlife trade (which seemed to get far less coverage than his meeting with Jay Z), the Duchess spent the day with pupils at the Northside Cener in Harlem.
For that occasion Kate wore a smart monochrome black coat from Beulah London, her second British high street outfit of the week so far, after her purple Seraphine maternity coat she wore for touchdown on Sunday.
Stay tuned for more updates on the Duke and Duchess's stateside trip...
