Christian Bale's role in The Fighter has earned him Best Supporting Actor accolades at both the Golden Globes and SAGs so far, and has him tipped for an Oscar win.
The sports drama has become a runaway hit thanks to its gutsy, heart-warming performances, with Christian playing boxer-turned-trainer, Dicky Ekland, who helps his brother Micky (Mark Wahlberg) to achieve an unlikely world champion title.
"You've got the lows that he hit, but throughout that you've got a guy with a very big heart. It gives me goose bumps just thinking about it," Christian reveals about his role.
Not only does Christian play the force behind the triumph on-screen, he was also an inspiration to his fellow cast on set.
"He brings so much humour and warmth", Amy Adams says of her co-star. "Working with Christian is a fantastic experience that every actor shouldget to have."
