Victoria Beckham may be an award-winning designer in her own right but last night she stepped out to honour one of the greats of her craft at the V&A's Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty's opening night soirée, which saw some of the biggest names in fashion turn out to remember the late designer and his most iconic works.
As per usual, where VB goes the cameras follow and, whether she meant to or not, she definitely stole some of the focus from the evening's bash thanks to her striking attire.
With her GORGEOUS husband David Beckham on her arm — who, might we add, looked more rugged and handsome than ever — the 40-year-old style maven took to the red carpet in a stunning bespoke black floor-sweeper which she and her own design team created especially for the glittering event.
Taking to her Twitter account after making her entrance, she expressed her gratitude to her dedicated staff:
Made from a luxe crepe fabric with a sheen underside, the skirt of the gown featured a cascade of petal motifs which draped and overlapped one another to create subtle cut-out fragments. Forming a stark contrast, the bodice of the dress had a way more structured feel to it due to it's boned, corseted design.
It didn't take long for people to notice that Vic's cleavage-boosting dress — which is a tad out of character for the mum-of-four who now has a penchant for tailored silhouettes and high-necklines — made her bust look way fuller than it has done in a long time. In fact, she looked more in the style of VB circa 2008 from the waist up (you know, minus the bleach blonde pixie crop...).
Her dress choice wasn't the only thing that turned heads at the gala, either. As for her make-up, she decided to work a very extreme smokey eye which she blended from the outline of her eye all the way up to her brow. Now THAT'S what we call dramatic.
You always know how to put us in a fashion daze, don't you Victoria?
