With handbags introduced into her collection for the first time, Victoria Beckham demonstrated her diversity as a designer, but these new additions simply served as icing on a beautifully crafted cake.
Her dresses were typically classic and timeless, and while the cinched-in waist has always been a favoured silhouette from Mrs Beckham, she mixed things up in her new collection with an understated-yet-sexy combination of structured skirts and flattering draping, keeping firmly on trend in her use of New York Fashion Week’s hottest fabric; parachute silk.
The colour scheme was simple - think black, cream and pink pastel-based hues. And in homage to hubby David, the shoes were all dyed the same colour as the pink, metallic Rolex watch he gave her for her 36th birthday! How cute!
There were also some stand-out pieces that are sure to keep her A-list fans happy. In particular, we love the silver, shimmering backless floor-length number: the girl knows how to do show-stopping glamour!
Posh commands a huge celebrity following, but she showed her determination to seize the respect of the fash-pack by inviting only fashion editors and stylists to her show.
And she even got the runway jitters, posting on her Twitter page: 'About to go!!!! Excited!!! Nervous!!!!'
But judging from the positive response across the board, our very own Victoria Beckham flew the style flag high for us Brits and had the fashion-aristocracy eating out of the palm of her hand! Well done VB!
