Ever wondered how Victoria Beckham remains so incredibly slim? Her former personal chef, Chris Irving, lifts the lid on her daily diet, which, he says, “is incredibly healthy.” That’s kind of a given, but what surprised us was her favoured snack. “She loves pea chips,” he revealed. Come again? “You know, made from garden peas, dried pea chips.”
Frankly, we’re non the wiser (a chip? Made from peas?) So we investigated further. A company called Snapea produces the said culinary nibble and each handful is bursting with vitamin B, calcium, iron, folate, potassium and dietary fibre. Add to that they are also full of protein and gluten-free, and it’s easy to see why they make VB so hap-pea (sorry).
If you’re feeling really adventurous, however, make them yourself (and it’s really not difficult, either.) Here’s how:
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
1 bag of sugar snap peas
Salt and pepper
WHAT TO DO
1. Set the oven to 180.
2. Rinse the peas, scatter on a baking tray and lightly spray with the cooking spray. Toss to coat.
3. Sprinkle the salt, pepper and garlic. If you really want to knock yourself out, add chilli flakes.
4. Bake for 15 minutes, take out of the oven and toss further.
5. Bake for another 15 minutes.
6. Remove – and eat.
