The public has spoken, and decided that David has more fashion cred than his wife Victoria. Do you agree?
Victoria Beckham may be the brains behind a multi-million pound fashion company, and her fashion choices an inspiration to many, but she's not as stylish as her husband David Beckham according to a new survey of the Ten Most Stylish Brits Of All Time.
The 39-year-old former England footballer has been placed at number three in the poll, commissioned for the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S6, six places above his wife Victoria who trailed behind at number nine. Although VB might be the one with the fashion know-how, David's not without his style credentials. He's the face (and body) of H&M's men's underwear collections (lest we forget) and has also starred in campaigns for Belstaff.
And actually, it's Victoria David should be thanking for his place in the top five, as she's the one advising him on what best to wear.
'She gives me advice because her vision of fashion is marvellous and her business is going great — I listen to her advice 99 per cent of the time,' David said of Victoria styling him. 'She's very honest, and if she doesn't like what I'm wearing, she tells me straight.'
Beating both David and Victoria to the top spot was Audrey Hepburn, who received 27 per cent of the 2,000-strong vote, with Princess Diana coming in second.
Unsurprisingly, royal fashion favourite Kate Middleton was just behind David at number four. But perhaps less expected was Twiggy taking the number five spot, and Sean Connery and, er, Queen Elizabeth I (well that ruff was pretty fetching) at number six and seven respectively.
We were pleased to see David Bowie come in eighth, and, of course, Kate Moss rounding off the top ten, just behind Victoria Beckham.
Here's that list in full:
1. Audrey Hepburn
2. Diana, Princess of Wales
3. David Beckham
4. The Duchess of Cambridge
6. Queen Elizabeth I
7. Sir Sean Connery
8. David Bowie
9. Victoria Beckham
10. Kate Moss
