Let’s just get this out the way – HOW amazing is Eddie Redmayne? Acting, looking… He’s literally nailing life.
We’ve been talking about his transformation in The Danish Girl - in which he plays Lili Elbe, the first person to undergo gender reassignment surgery - since the first pictures from the film were released earlier this year.
Talking to The New York Times about playing the transgender pioneer, he said: 'One of the most interesting things for me was my first day on the set as Lili Elbe and the gaze of the crew members — being looked at and being judged, it really made me nervous.'
Speaking about relating to Lili, and the transgender people he'd met when researching the role, he added: 'There's a moment in the film where Lili says, "Do you think I'm pretty enough?," and it was something that was sort of on my mind as well.'
You get a solid yes from us, Eddie.
Although Eddie's the one we're all talking about now, his is far from the only transgender film transformation we've seen. Remember these?
