Three books yet only one film? Time to set the record straight...
The Fifty Shades Of Grey film franchise has been making headlines once again, with fresh reports claiming that a trilogy of filthy films is no longer on the cards.
Kelly Marcell, the movie's screenwriter, was rumoured to have condensed all three of E L James' naughty novels into one script, bucking the Peter Jackson-inspired Hollywood trend for long-running book-to-film franchises.
Prompting the rumours were the film's leads, Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson, who are reportedly scheduled to fly to Spain to film honeymoon scenes that only feature in the third book, Fifty Shades Freed.
But it looks like the suspicion was unfounded, with E L James herself piping up to slam the surprising reports.
'Only one movie!!! Is that true?', one disappointed fan tweeted the writer earlier today. 'No', replied James.
Another fan then followed up with: 'It's really sad you have to keep answering this. #threebooksthreemovies', to which the Fifty Shades creator replied: 'Yes it is!!! I'm not answering it any more... Grrr...'
Phew. It looks like we've still got three films' worth of Christian and Ana's racy bedroom exploits coming to a cinema near us, then. Thank heavens!
