The Beckcham family punting on the River Cam

The Beckhams enjoyed a punt down the river

Even if you're a multi-millionaire without a five-day-a-week office job, that doesn't mean bank holidays still aren't the best thing ever.

Just take a look at the Beckham family, who enjoyed the most British of Bank Holiday Mondays with a punt down the River Cam in Cambridge with their extended family.

Taking up two boats, David, Victoria, Brooklyn, Romeon, Cruz and Harper were joined by VB's parents and her sister Louise and her children as they took the 50-minute guided punting tour, which takes in the famous university colleges and bridges.

Now, spending the day on a gondola is is not something we had Victoria Beckham down for – it's certainly a far cry from the hotels of Singapore where she had just returned from. And granted, the fashion designer did look a little out of place in her massive shades and sleek black top and denim as she sat next to Harper with her knees pulled up to her chin. And sister Louise also looked a little uncomfortable scrunched in the back of the boat, hugging her handbag close to her.

But the Beckham boys looked like they took to boating like ducks to water, with dad David taking charge of the punting pole to ferry his family down the river, posting proud selfies to his recently launched Instagram – and 6.4m followers.

And we're hoping they finished the day off as any self-respecting family would on a Bank Holiday Monday – with a roast and pint in the pub.
