The five-piece popstrels are set to design a capsule collection for high-street brand Rare.
Ooh we love a pop-star-becomes-fashion-designer story, so we're deeply excited that one of our fave new girlbands, The Saturdays, will join the ranks of Kylie and Madonna by turning their dainty, multi-tasking hands to fashion with a capsule collection for womenswear label, Rare. There'll be 10, bound-to-be-very-lovely, limited edition dresses, all heavily embracing the Autumn/Winter trends. OK, we know summer has barely arrived, but is it wrong to get excited about the cold weather because of this?
There'll be a heavy emphasis on biker chic like studs, rivets and other "hard" detailing, as well the strong 80s influences that were seen on every catwalk from here to gay Paree. (Who says it's "the decade that fashion forgot"? More like "the decade that keeps on giving").
But we digress. It's over to The Saturdays themselves: "We absolutely love fashion," they tell us. “Our relationship with Rare started with Mollie's yellow dress in our If This is Love video, so it's great we get to have our very own range.”
So we might not have Vanessa's hair, Molly's figure, Una's smile, Frankie's cool haircut or Rochelle's legs, but at least we can get one (or more) of their fabulous frocks.
If you want to pre-order you can do so from 1 May via rarefashion.co.uk
