As news of Kate Middleton going into labour has caused a worldwide frenzy, the Queen has returned home to Buckingham Palace where thousands of fans await the Royal baby announcement.

Leaving Windsor Castle where she had spent the night, the Queen was pictured arriving home to Buckingham Palace upon the news that Kate Middleton was admitted into St Mary's Hospital, Paddington.

No doubt as excited as the rest of the nation for the arrival of her great grandchild and third in line to the throne, the Queen is now at the bustling centre of Royal baby mania, as Buckingham Palace will be the station for the official news bulletin to be posted as soon as the Royal baby has arrived.

Not all the Royal family are off-duty, however, as Prince Charles continued his scheduled visit nearly 200 miles away in York - where he was quoted as saying that they knew "Absolutely nothing at the moment" of the Royal baby's arrival.
