A gala is the perfect excuse for stylish stars to get dressed up and last night's Met Opera premiere of Le Comte Ory certainly attracted a very fashionable crowd including The Olsens, Claire Danes and Claudia Schiffer.
The Olsen twins showed off their edgy style prowess as they made a rare red carpet appearance clad in luxe black dresses. Ashley styled a green fur shoulder wrap stole collar while her sibling Mary-Kate opted for a 70s-style sheer black spotty gown with bell sleeves, topping it with an oversized long waistcoat. Both finished their looks with matching gold-rimmed sunglasses and Yves Saint Laurent Y-Mail minaudiere black satin mini-clutches.
The twins were joined by the stunning Claudia Schiffer who swept onto the red carpet in a divine YSL Edition Soir 2011 black silk crepe dress teamed with YSL black suede embroidered metal chain sandals, while Claire Danes also opted for black in a one-shouldered black gown.
After their red carpet poses, the VIPs at Yves Saint Laurent sponsored event were whisked off to take their seats for the premiere of Rossini's stunning opera Le Comte Ory, a 200 year old production directed by Barlett Sher.
This will mark the fourth season of a multi-year collaboration established in 2008, where Yves Saint Laurent - with its historic affiliations to the opera makes an unprecedented commitment to the art form.
Other celebs at the event included Julianna Margulies, Rebecca Hall, Lindsey Wixson, Mercedes Bass and Yves Saint Laurent Creative Director Stefano Pilati.
What a stylish bunch!
