Lifetime isn't holding anything back when it comes to their much-anticipated biopic of pop icon Britney Spears, titled Britney Ever After. The network, known for its unauthorized biographical projects (Saved by the Bell and Full House both got the biopic treatment), released the trailer for the TV movie today, featuring plenty of headset mic-adorned dance numbers, midriff shots, and of course, Spears's famous 2007 meltdown that had a little something to do with a razor, an umbrella, and the paparazzi.
Lifetime first released photos from the movie back in December, and although the actors cast for the movie don't exactly look identical to their real-life counterparts—including Justin Timberlake, the rest of N*Sync, and Kevin Federline—a Brit Brit biopic is way overdue, so we'll take what we can get.
The trailer definitely looks intense, and the film will take a look at the popstar's rise to fame and her dramatic fall from grace, but will end with Spears's ultimate comeback, which she's still living up to in a major way, thanks to her ongoing Las Vegas residency, "Britney: Piece of Me" at the AXIS at Planet Hollywood.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Spears's rep said the songstress will not be contributing to the project "in any way, shape or form … nor does it have her blessing." We can't blame her for not wanting to relive her troubled young adulthood, but we're pretty excited to watch Britney Ever After when it premieres Feb 18 on Lifetime, and in the meantime, check out the (you drive me) crazy trailer above—sorry, we had to.
