Uggie the Jack Russell joins Berenice Bejo and Jean Dujardin in London for The Artist’s UK premiere.

Move over Joey the horse, there’s a new animal star in town – Uggie the dog, Jean Dujardin’s faithful companion in silent movie The Artist.

The film’s breakout star visited London this week as part of the British press tour, and posed for pics wearing a bow tie over his collar.

Accompanied by his trainer Omar von Muller, who adopted Uggie as a rescue dog eight years ago, Uggie performed for onlookers from his repertoire of tricks.

DIANE VON FURSTENBERG AND HARVEY WEINSTEIN CELEBRATE THE ARTIST

No stranger to the world of celebrity, Uggie’s other credits include parts in Mr Fix It and Water For Elephants, opposite Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon.

Although there will be no Oscar nod for his performance, he has already won the Palm Dog Award for best canine performance at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and an honourable mention at France’s Lumiere Awards – congrats Uggie!
