This quintessential nineties 'do made a major comeback at the Emmys and the VMA's alike, but do you dare to go back there?

Tousled waves took an unexpected backseat this weekend at both the Emmy's and the MTV Video Music Awards in favour of a majorly '90s, throwback style. The big question is, are you prepared to rock it once again?

From Kendall Jenner to Jennifer Lopez, it appears everyone ditched the luxe blow-dry and simultaneously grabbed the nearest pair of straighteners in sight as a mass poker-straight exodus ensued on both red carpets. We're not kidding...

The quintessential style of the nineties and the early noughties - back when GHD's were sold-out at every salon you scoured - usually makes an appearance in the form of lesser known, young starlets but this year some of the most seasoned awards show attendees broke their rulers out and went all-out flat-iron on us.

So much so, we're calling trend on this one.

The tucked-behind-the-ear and parted-to-the-middle look was the order of the day for Jessie J, Kendall and J-Lo, who tapped into her From The Block days to inspire her 'do.

Meanwhile, Gwen Stefani took on the '90s style in her stride, with her platinum locks upping the throwback feel of the dare-to-try hair trend.

However, our 'do of the day has to go to Jourdan Dunn, one of the highest paid model's in the world right now, who channelled her inner Posh Spice circa 1994 with an angled, drastically side-parted bob. Excellent.

That's right ladies, now's the time to dust off your Frizz Ease and straighteners...
