Just a few for the mantelpiece...
Taylor Swift has gone from a cute country singer to a global superstar over the past decade, but the last year has been totally game-changing. Her album might be named 1989, but here’s why 2015 was totally Taylor’s year...
This is the album that started it all. Featuring the huge hits Bad Blood, Style, Blank Space and Shake It Off, 1989 was the soundtrack to our year, no matter our mood.
Taylor’s 85-date world tour stopped off everywhere, from England, to Ireland, Japan, Australia, America and China… we could go on, but everyone knows that the 1989 tour was the concert to see this year, complete with an unbelievable roll call of special guests (you can relive the 12 best Taylor Swift tour performances here).
The Concert Doc
Now, Taylor has released a documentary of the 1989 tour with Apple Music. After some bad blood between Taylor and Apple Music, they soon made up and Taylor spilled all on how she landed such amazing tour guests (Mick Jagger and her Dad?!) and why she’s so close with her squad (“it would be weird not to include my friends”).
For such an amazing year, it makes sense to keep some memories right? Well, Taylor took things a step further in 2015 and applied to trademark phrases to do with her 1989 album, including “black space”. “and I’ll write your name”, “1989” and “Swiftmas”. This is after she turned in applications in January for “Party Like It's 1989," "This Sick Beat," "Cause We Never Go Out Of Style" and "Nice to Meet You. Where You Been?”.
The Girl Squad
Taylor’s infamous girl squad just keeps on growing. Last year saw Taylor cosy up to Blake Lively, spend 4th of July with Haim (Estee is the funniest, according to Tay), plus she strutted down her London stage with Gigi Hadid, Cara Delevingne, Karlie Kloss, Martha Hunt, Serena Williams AND Kendall Jenner. Ed Sheeran also makes the cut. Do we even need to mention that Bad Blood video?

Taylor took home no less than three awards at the Grammys 2016.
Taylor and Calvin Harris have been inseparable since they started dating in March 2015.
