Suicide Squad Cast

You don't want to be messing with this bunch of villains...

Ok guys, we need to talk about Suicide Squad.

What started out as a bit of a fanboy Comic Con-esque obsession has now snowballed into fast becoming THE most hotly anticipated movie of the decade and well, people are wigging out about it.

And listen, you don't have to be a superhero movie buff to be into this flick. Margot Robbie and Cara Delevingne alone are giving us enough female #SquadGoals to have us standing in line once Suicide Squad is released on August 5th...preferably in sparkly pants, pigtails and toting a baseball bat a la Harley Quinn, obvs.

So to bring you up to speed with all things SS, here's EVERTHING you need to know about the movie. Whoop...

Suicide Squad: What's it about?

Ok, in a nutshell. First thing you need to know is that the motley crew making up DC Comics' Suicide Squad ain't your average bunch of do-gooders. In fact, they are quite the opposite. David Ayers' new flick sees these imprisoned villains released and recruited into a special task force team, to deal with a whole bunch of dangerous shizz that normal cookie-cutter superpeople can't handle. Basically Suicide Squad is about a gang of badasses fighting crime, and looking ridiculously cool doing it. Awesome.

Suicide Squad: The cast

What's not to like here. Margot Robbie is probably going to go down in history as the most iconic reimagining of cult female comic character Harley Quinn, Will Smith as expert assassin Deadshot, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag and yes...Jared Leto as Joker. Those pics are just uh-mazing right? The mystery surrounding Leto's interpretation of this green-haired baddie (let's not forget Heath Ledger's unforgettable turn as the Joker in The Dark Knight - credit where credits due) has had fans champing at the bit ever since the first Suicide Squad teaser stills were released. And well, it's not hard to see why...

Jordan Catalano has well and truly left the building.

Suicide Squad: The style

As we've already mentioned, Margot Robbie as pigtailed hellraiser Harley Quinn has pretty much broken the internet in terms of fanboy picture worship. And yes, this WILL be your future Halloween costume/festival make-up for 2016. Don't take our word for it. Just take a look at Poppy Delevingne nailing Harley Quinn's getup last year. Yeah, welcome to your new costume crush.

Suicide Squad: The trailer

And if Harley Quinn isn't sending the interweb into a Suicide Squad fuelled frenzy, then one of the cleverly released movie trailers is. The most recent made it's debut at the MTV Movie Awards and has sent social media into meltdown ever since. Why? Take a look for yourselves.

We're pumped people.

Suicide Squad: CinemaCon

When the cast of Suicide Squad descended on CinemaCon in Las Vegas recently to help promote the forthcoming movie, we sufferered instant tribe envy. Instagram accounts were hopping, laughs were stupidly infectious, and group hugs were a'plenty. These guys huh? Go team SS.

Suicide Squad: Release Date

Excited yet? Well, there's still a bit of a wait. Suicide Squad hits theatres on August 5th, but we encourage you to plan ahead. Fans have been waiting for this baby for a LONG time, and we anticipate a Star Wars: The Force Awakens frenzy at the box office.

Here's Cara looking terrifying...

Stay tuned guys. This one's gonna be big.
