Stars shine at this year’s MOBO Awards

Famous faces, great performances, surprising winners and amazing style, all at the MOBO Awards 2009.

A host of stars descended on the Scottish city of Glasgow last night for this year's MOBO Awards.


X Factor winner Alexandra Burke (who wore a gorgeous asymmetric Pucci dress) and US starlet Kelly Rowland (in leopard-print Louboutins) bought a touch of glamour to the red carpet as did Britain's Got Talent dance crews Diversity and Flawless in their matching outfits.

Jermaine and La Toya Jackson also attended the event and accepted a posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award on stage for Michael Jackson.

Later on in the evening La Toya introduced Britain's Got Talent contestant Shaheen Jafargholi, who performed the Jackson 5 hit I'll Be There.

Brit band and current flavour of the month, JLS, scooped two awards including Best Single for Beat Again and Best Newcomer.

London trio N-Dubz also had a great night and picked up two awards for Best UK Act and Best Album.

The star-studded event featured standout performances by Taio Cruz and Keri Hilson singing their hit Knock You Down and Kelly Rowland with DJ David Guetta performing the dance anthem When Love Takes Over.

Radio One DJ Reggie Yates, and US star Keri Hilson, hosted the event which celebrates music of black origin.

Best Album: N-Dubz - Uncle B

Best Hip Hop: Chipmunk

Best R&B: Keri Hilson

Best Video: Beyonce - Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)

Best Reggae: Sean Paul

Best Jazz: Yolanda Brown

Best Gospel: Victizzle

Best African Act: Nneka

Best DJ: Trevor Nelson

Lifetime Achievement Award: Michael Jackson
