Sofia Coppola's next job – to direct a new adaptation of The Little Mermaid – has got us very excited indeed.
If, like, us the Disney film ranks as one of your favourites of all time (we still know all the words from that song she sings in the cave), then no doubt you'll be feeling a twinge of excitement, too.
But don't expect to see a singing Rastafarian crab, or a seagull called Scuttle in this version. Taken from the original story by Hans Christian Anderson, this Little Mermaid is going to be a live-action extravaganza.
And, we don't want to ruin anything here, Coppola's film will be using the original ending from the fairytale – which is not what you might call 'Disney'.
There's no word yet on who is going to take the title role, but we reckon there'll be a lot of leading ladies vying for this part. Who would you like to see as the Mermaid? Let us know…
