Sienna Miller has spoken candidly about how the much-publicised goings on in her private life almost sabotaged her acting career.
It is alleged that Sienna had an affair with actor Daniel Craig in 2005, whilst being in a relationship with Jude Law – an event that is the subject of the phone hacking trial in which Law is currently giving evidence.
Yesterday, the court heard a private voicemail left by Sienna on Daniel Craig's mobile phone, in which she says: 'Hi, it's me. I can't speak, I'm at the Groucho with Jude. I love you.'
In an interview in the March issue of Esquire magazine, the 32-year-old actress confessed: 'It had become difficult for me to get the work I wanted, if I’m really honest.'
'It was a weird situation to be in because there was a lot of goodwill for me in Hollywood. I think I’d been lucky in that I’d always been naughty in that town and people had always liked me for it.'
After Sienna split from Jude Law, she was linked to father-of-four Balthazar Getty, which forced the actress back into the spotlight – for all the wrong reasons.
'It was really bad,' Sienna said. 'What was going on in my private life was not an easy thing to read about. People don’t want to see films with people they don’t approve of in them.'
Ms Miller, who is engaged to fellow actor Tom Sturridge, with whom she has a daughter, Marlow, said she felt 'sick of herself' during that period of her life.
'I felt like I had no control over any aspect of my life, professionally or personally. So I deliberately disappeared. I was sick of myself, to be honest, or sick of that perception of me. It all felt so f***ing dirty.'
