Joanne Froggatt aka Anna Bates in the hit ITV1 period drama Downton Abbey, reveals there's shocks aplenty coming up in series 4 of the show.
With series 3 and the Christmas special playing out some major cast departures - the most shocking of which was the untimely death of Matthew Crawley, played by Dan Stevens, the actress explained there'll be plenty of new characters joining the show: "We've lost a few well-loved characters, so we're missing them but we've got new blood in as well so it's still fresh. There are a lot of shocks and surprises in series four."
And with our favourite devious maid Sarah O'Brien played by Siobhan Finneran also leaving the show, we're wondering who will be replacing her as the villainous element in the Grantham household.
Keen not to give too much away about the hotly anticipated new season, Joanne did allude to some new "young hot men" joining the cast..
"We've got a lot of hotties joining the new cast," she added.
Remaining devoutly tight-lipped about the nature of the shocking plot twists and turns to come, Joanne had nothing but praise for Julian Fellowes and the rest of the Downton crew, telling fans to expect plenty more drama to come.
Downton Abbey series four hits TV screens this autumn - and we can't wait.
