A new SATC movie would get the thumbs up from Ms Cattrall. Could there really be a new movie on its way...?
Sex And The City 3 has gained a new supporter – in the form of Kim Cattrall.
Kim, who played the insatiable Samantha Jones in the hit HBO TV series and two subsequent movies, told ET Canada that a new movie would be 'fantastic'.
'For me, financially, it would be fantastic! For all of us,' the actress said.
'But I am really about content and where is it going to take me? Is there something left to say,' she added.
Kim Cattrall, who has been concentrating on theatre of late, most recently with a praised performance at the Old Vic in Tennessee Wiliams' Sweet Bird Of Youth, would only want to return to the franchise if there 'is something more to say'.
'How do I want to spend my time? Do I want to spend it doing something that I’ve explored to the fullest or do I want to come back and revisit it?' she said.
But Kim isn't alone in thinking a new Sex And The City movie wouldn't be a bad thing. Speaking in InStyle US, the show's lead, Sarah Jessica Parker said: 'A part of me thinks there is one last chapter to tell. But timing is a peculiar thing. It isn't a decision that can wait for ever. I don't want to have to wear muumuus!' The sooner the better, we say.
Kristin Davis, who played the prim and proper (well, kind of) Charlotte York in the show has also hinted that a new film may well be in the works.
'I don't think [a third film] is a pipe dream, there is discussion,' Davis told Haute Living.
'People talk about it amongst the people who are the players, but I don't know if it will come together. It would be very exciting if it did,' she added.
So now, it seems, there's only Cynthia Nixon, who played no-nonsense Miranda in the show, left to convince.
Sounding less enthused than her co-stars, Cynthia said in a recent interview: 'I think it's fine to let it go.'
But not if Kristin Davis has anything to do with it: 'I'm going to have a little talk with Cynthia the next time I see her!' she said.
Maybe Kim should have a chat with Cynthia about the financial benefits, too...
