Audrey Tautou and Poppy Delevigne
Claire Danes and Kate Winslet
BAFTA Best Dressed - Carey Mulligan and Vera Farmiga
BAFTA Best Dressed - Anna Kendrick and Romola Garai
It was a fabulous night for fashion at the BAFTAs last night as Stella McCartney, Erdem and Burberry all got outings on the red carpet.
It seems that A-list actresses just can't resist a short hemline right now with a clutch of stars shunning the usual floor-length rgowns in favour of leg-baring minidresses. Anna Kendrick, Romola Garai, Audrey Tautou and Poppy Delevigne all opted for short and sweet.
Romola Garai wore a dress from Erdem's S/S 2010 collection which was given maximum impact with red lipstick and a huge topknot updo. (scroll down to see)
Anna Kendrick also stood out in bright colour wearing this embellished tiered frock by Pucci. Teamed with her hair in a loose updo with tendrils around her face the effect was sweet and sassy.
Audrey Tautou was pure Parisienne chic in candy-pink Lanvin which she colour clashed with bright red lips and shoes.
Model Poppy Delevigne knows how to put together a hot look and this Chanel ensemble was no exception. The tiered grey-blue dress with bow closure and cage shoeboots were a winning combo.
However, there were plenty of actresses keeping things traditional working full-length looks. Claire Danes, Kate Winslet, Carey Mulligan and Vera Farmiga all chose floor-skimming gowns.
Claire Danes was utterly ethereal in silver Burberry Prorsum teamed with pillar-box red lipstick for a Hollywood glamour finish.
Kate Winslet showed off her pilates-honed bod in an unforgiving Stella McCartney gown with peek-a-boo lace panels. Rather than her usual awards ceremony updos, Winslet kept her locks loose and natural for the event.
Best Actress winner Carey Mulligan chose a gown by French brand Vionnet which is having something of a revival on the red carpet right now and stunned us in the process. It was a grown up gown for the young starlet and a look she totally pulled off.
