Bye, Bayside! Where Are The Saved By The Bell Cast Now?

The Saved By The Bell cast might have said their final goodbyes to Bayside High, but what did they do after the show?

Saved By The Bell taught us about teenage love, how to deal with the loss of your pet chameleon and the dangers of drink and drugs (‘I’m so, I’m so…scared!’), so when the show ended in 1993 – and after The College Years in 1994 – we felt like there was something missing in our lives.

But as for the Saved By The Bell cast now? It’s not all pep rallies and The Max hangouts: here’s where the Bayside gang are up to now.

Zack Morris (Mark-Paul Gosselaar)
Mark-Paul is one SBTB alumn who has been pretty damn successful after the show. He starred in Law & Order, NYPD Blue, Raising The Bar, CSI and Franklin & Bash, as well as films Dead Man On Campus, Heist and Precious Cargo. He also took a turn on Broadway, and competed in the Far West Championships for track cycling. Mark-Paul even has four children – do you feel old yet?!

Kelly Kapowski (Tiffani Theissen)
While Zack and Kelly might not have stayed together IRL (the devastation is real), Tiffani quickly moved on from SBTB to Beverly Hills 90210, also racking up appearances on Married With Children, Charles In Charge and the Woody Allen directed Hollywood Ending. Tiffani was actually first pick to replace Shannen Doherty in Charmed, but turned down the role, and most recently starred in White Collar. These days, you’ll find Tiffani hosting her own cooking show (which often features SBTB alumn).

A. C. Slater (Mario Lopez)
Once a stud, always a stud. After The College Years, Mario appeared in everything from Nip/Tuck and The Bold And The Beautiful to Sesame Street, as well as coming second in 2006’s Dancing With The Stars. Mario also made a name for himself as a TV presenter, hosting The X Factor, Pet Star, America’s Best Dance Crew and starring in a reality show with his wife and children, Mario Lopez: Saved by the Baby. He’s been on radio, broadway and has written three fitness and health books, as well as a children’s book. Can we just add, A. C. has not aged a DAY since Saved By The Bell!

Jessie Spano (Elizabeth Berkley)
Elizabeth Berkley went wild after she left Saved By The Bell, starring in the box-office bomb turned cult classic Showgirls (if you haven’t seen it, here's a NSFW clip). Elizabeth’s film career has never quite been the same, but on the small screen, Elizabeth has been cast in CSI, NYPD Blue, Without A Trace, Law & Order: Criminal Intent and The L Word, as well as appearing on Dancing With The Stars. Elizabeth also runs a self-help programme for young girls online, and is an animal rights activist for PETA

Lisa Turtle (Lark Voorhies)
We’re kind of upset Lark didn’t become a real-life fashion designer like Lisa, but the singer and author (three books under her belt!) did play a fashion intern on The Bold And The Beautiful, as well as starring in Days Of Our Lives. She had a guest spot in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, as well as taking a turn in several music videos. Lark was also in two bands – did you know that was her real vocal on ‘Go For It!’?

Screech (Dustin Diamond)
Dustin Diamond always was the cast member who couldn’t let go of the bell, sticking around for The College Years and The New Class. Then came that sex tape in 2006, titled Screeched: Saved By The Smell (which he later claimed was a stunt double…). In 2009, Dustin also released the tell-all book Behind The Bell, supposedly revealing all the hook ups and breakdowns between the cast. As well as appearing on American TV shows like The Weakest Link, Celebrity Fit Club and Hulk Hogan's Celebrity Championship Wrestling, Dustin also starred in the UK’s Celebrity Big Brother in 2013, before being sent to jail for ‘carrying a concealed weapon and disorderly conduct’. Whoops.
