Sarah Jessica Parker finally launching first shoe collection

Queen of heels, Sarah Jessica Parker, will collaborate with Manolo Blahnik CEO George Malkemus on her first ever shoe collection…

It's been 15 years to the week since Carrie Bradshaw tottered onto our screens in six-inch heels in the first episode of Sex and the City, so there's no better time for Sarah Jessica Parker to announce she's collaborating on an accessories line.

Fittingly, she's worked with George Malkemus who's CEO to Carrie favourite, Manolo Blahnik.

Referencing her iconic TV alter-ego, Sarah Jessica explains: "Because I got to play that role, I wore a lot of shoes, and by default I learned an enormous amount. It's hard to - no pun intended - walk away from that."

For the simply titled SJP collection, the pair have created a line of simple, elegant pumps and heels priced from £130, as well as bags and trench coats.

The fashion mogul promises us a shoe collection of classics with a twist: "We're putting new colours together that people don't typically do, just beautiful combinations that you wish existed in your closet. And in terms of bags, thinking about that period of the Seventies into the Eighties, what those women were carrying, taking away the bells and the whistles and hardware and really making it about the bag."

The accessories line will be available exclusively at US store Nordstrom from early 2014, but we have our fingers crossed for a UK expansion.
