Sarah Jessica Parker And Rihanna Are Going To Make Beautiful Handbags Together

Fendi has asked a troupe of style icons to design their very own iconic 3Baguette bag and it's all in the name of charity...

It's the kind of news fashion dreams are made of so imagine our sheer delight when we heard that the stylish likes of Sarah Jessica Parker, Rihanna and supermodel Jourdan Dunn are putting their fashion expertise to very good use to create a bespoke handbag collection. Hint: we were VERY excited...

Details have only just emerged that the modern-day style icons have been challenged with creating their very own versions of Fendi's iconic 3Baguette bag, with the main goal being to raise handfuls of cash for charity.

The brand's creative director (as if he even needs an introduction...) Karl Lagerfeld has called upon the fashion mavens to design and interpret their very own Baguette which will then be sold during a live online charity auction.

Joining the famous trio in the design workshop will be artist Rachel Feinstein and blogger Leandra Medine of Man Repeller fame, who will also put their mark on a piece of Fendi arm-candy. Each woman has been selected not only for their fashion credentials, but for their varying sense of style that is to be reflected in their respective handbags. The bags are being kept under lock and key for now but as soon as we get in inside track on what they look like, we'll let you know. For those of you unfamiliar with Fendi's infamous 3Baguette, here it is...

Who knows; if SJP gets into the bag-making in a big way, we may just see her branching out to add arm-candy to her already very successful SJP Collection range. After all; what's a killer pair of heels without an equally hot bag?

The resulting designs from the 3Baguette project will go on display for a month from 13th of February at Fendi's brand-spanking new flagship store on Madison Avenue in NYC before being auctioned off in March.

What's more; the proceeds from the sale of each individual bag will go on to help its famous designer's charity of choice. Money made from Rihanna’s design will go to The Clara Lionel Foundation — which she founded in 2012. Sarah Jessica Parker’s bag sale will go directly into the Brain Trauma Foundation's funds while Jourdan Dunn has opted for The Sickle Cell Disease Association of America, a cause very close to the model's heart.

So, if you're looking to do a very good deed and fancy a new designer bag for your arm, this is definitely up your street. Carrie Bradshaw, for one, would be oh-so proud...

Ladies — and Karl — we salute you.
