Ryan Reynolds Has *Finally* Revealed What He And Blake Lively Named Their Baby Girl

After literally months of waiting, Ryan Reynolds has confirmed to the world the name of he and Blake Lively's baby daughter! Drum roll...

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively have been teasing us ever since the 27-year-old actress gave birth to the couple's first child — a daughter — back in December with their baby's name.

First of all, there was a tweet made by someone who allegedly worked at the hospital where Blake gave birth congratulating her on the arrival of 'Violet'. When the couple kept their silence on the matter, it was pretty well assumed that the well-wisher had mistakenly let the name slip.

However, after a respectable amount of time, Blake and Ryan then dispelled the claims by ruling out the pretty floral name completely. So, it was back to the drawing board...

After months of journalists trying to guess and outwit the starry couple for the baby girl's name, it looks like Ryan has finally cracked. And on national TV no less!

On a visit to the Today Show in NYC, Ryan was reminded by the TV host about a joke he made about their baby's name before the actual birth.

'You did say a few months ago, before she was born, that you were going to name her Excalibur Anaconda Reynolds. So can we call her Anna at least - short for Anaconda?'

Well played. To which Ryan said: 'That is not the child's name. It's Butternut Summersquash.'

Oh Ryan, what are you like?!

Then, in a glorious turn of events, Ryan revealed: 'It's James. Everyone knows.'

'I didn't want to be the first guy screaming it out to the media, because as we know, little girls turn into teenage girls and little teenage girls sometimes scan through the archives and go, 'Why did you do that?''

Well, it had to come out sometime Ryan, and we're sure glad it did! James was just one of the names that was thrown into the mix when Violet turned out to be untrue, so it's nice to know at least one of the options we've heard on the grapevine was correct.

Congrats again to Ryan, Blake and little baby James!
