After eight years of dating, Prince William and Kate Middleton yesterday announced that they will marry next summer, and joined press at St James Palace to discuss their plans.
While our thoughts immediately turned to what the soon-to-be princess may be wearing on the big day, we won't have to second guess about the ring, as William has chosen to give his bride-to-be his late mother's sapphire.
'It’s very special to me, Kate’s very special to me as well, I thought it only right to put the two together,' he said of his choice to give Kate the 18-carat ring.
Beaming, arm-in-arm with her Prince, Kate added that William is a: 'True romantic'.
The soon-to-be princess wore an Issa wrap dress for the conference - could this be a clue to who will design her bridal gown - we'll just have to wait and see!
