With only a few hours to wait until we find out whether Kate Middleton has given birth to a baby boy or girl, it looks as if we may have to wait slightly longer before we find what name both Kate and Prince William will choose for their first child.
When Prince William was born on 21 June 1982, the public had to wait a week to find out what name Princess Diana and Prince Charles had appointed for the Royal baby, and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge may choose to follow suit this time around too.
Kate and Wills chose not to find out the gender of the baby, which is set to be announced, along with the time of birth, on an easel outside Buckingham Palace shortly after the Royal baby arrives.
At the moment odds are showing the two top names for the new baby as George for a boy and Alexandra, one of the Queen’s middle names, for a girl. It’s likely the baby will have several middle names, in keeping with Royal tradition.
Kate entered St Mary's hospital early this morning and is said to be progressing well.
