Reese Witherspoon is set to star as the legendary jazz musician and actress in an upcoming film

Reese is no stranger to a little on-screen song and dance having won an Oscar for her stunning performance as June Carter Cash in 2005's Walk The Line, so it's no surprise that she was eager to swipe the role of Peggy Lee.

After meeting with Lee's granddaughter she secured the rights to the story and got things rolling with writer and director Nora Ephron.

Reese will play out the personal and proffessional life of the glamorous Fever singer, but we're yet to find out who will be cast as her leading man.

Recently named one of Hollywood's highest paid leading ladies by Forbes, it looks like the blonde beauty's success is only set to grow with this project in the pipeline.

With her winning smile and wide-eyed beauty we're sure she'll make a stunning counterpart for Lee.
