Taylor Swift has reached a major celeb milestone in her relationship, people. It’s just been revealed that she never calls her boyfriend (that’s Calvin Harris, in case you’ve been living under a rock) by his stage name when they’re alone, instead only referring to him using his real name. Come on, did you really think a 31 year old from Dumfries, Scotland would be called Calvin Harris?!
Turns out T-Swift will only call her beau by his real name, Adam Richard Wiles. Now that’s more like it. So how did Calvin come about? DJing in his bedroom, the artist currently known as Calvin thought that being white might not go down well with his first soul single. “I thought Calvin Harris sounded a bit more racially ambiguous, I thought people might not know if I was black or not. After that, I was stuck with it”.
He’s not the first celeb to change his name to help his chances of success, either. Julianne Moore’s real name is Julie Anne Smith, but thanks to Smith being such a common last name Julie was forced to make the switch. “'My father's middle name is Moore; my mother's name is Anne. So I just slammed the Anne onto the Julie. That way, I could use both of their names and not hurt anyone's feelings”. There’s not always a reason though – Jessie J says she always feels like she disappoints people when she reveals there’s no reason for changing her name from Jessica Ellen Cornish. How about Florian Cloud de Bounevialle Armstrong? That’s Dido, FYI. Now that’s a mouthful.
We’ve done some digging and resurfaced the A-list birth certificates they tried to hide. Here are the celebrities’ real names you won’t believe...
