Appearing at the annual Audi Polo Challenge Prince William made his first public appearance since the birth of the his first child, Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge, and it was obvious that his new son wasn’t far from his mind.
As Prince William took to the stage to receive his trophy, the doting father was also presented with a mini polo mallet for his son, and the Duke of Cambridge was clearly beaming as he shared anecdotes about the new Royal baby.
Despite scoring the winning goal in the match, Prince William admitted, “I was in baby mode out there, thinking about nappies, I wasn’t really in the zone. I’ve got to pick some (nappies) up on my way home. I’ve got to make sure I’m not too late back.”
The Duke of Cambridge then added that baby Prince George “likes to move around a lot, he wriggles a lot, he keeps [us] on our toes.”
Last year Kate Middleton and Royal pup Lupo joined Prince William at the annual match, but the new mum was unsurprisingly absent from this year’s event, reportedly staying at her parents’ home in Berkshire with baby George. However a host of celebrities joined Prince William and his brother Prince Harry for the day, including Gemma Arterton, Mr Selfridge star Jeremy Piven and model Lily Cole amongst others.
