While pregnant Kate Middleton might be taking a well-deserved break from charity work as her due date nears, Prince Harry is doing his bit with a week-long tour of the US. He kicked things off with an event to highlight the work of the anti-landmine charity supported by Princess Diana, The Halo Trust, at Capitol Hill in Washington DC.
Arriving stateside to many an adoring female fan, Prince Harry was every bit the English gentleman as he was greeted by First Lady Michelle Obama on Capitol Hill.
There to promote the work of The Halo Trust, a charity close to the heart of his late mother, Princess Diana, Prince Harry addressed guests, saying: “My mother, who believed passionately in this cause, would be proud of my association with Halo.”
Before adding: “In her special way, she adopted it as her own. She would join me - along with all of you, I'm sure - in praising Halo for the amazing work that it has done over the past quarter century, and in hoping that one day soon its humanitarian work will be done.”
