Royal baby George's seven Godparents have now been named
Kate Middleton and Prince William have announced the names of baby George's seven Godparents ahead of his christening later today.
The royal chosen ones have been named as Oliver Baker, Emilia Jardine-Paterson, Hugh Grosvenor, Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, Julia Samuel, William van Cutsem and Zara Tindall.
Oliver and Earl Grosvenor both know the couple from their St Andrews University days, while Mrs Jardine-Paterson went to Marlborough College with Kate. Zara Tindall, wife of former England rugby international Mike Tindall, is probably the most well-known name on the list, and is Prince William's cousin.
Mr Lowther-Pinkerton is Kate and Will's former private secretary, while Julia Samuel is a close family friend of the Duke and his late mother Diana, Princess of Wales – and also Founder Patron and Trustee of charity Child Bereavement UK, which the couple has actively supported.
Mr Van Cutsem, meanwhile, is a childhood friend of Prince William's. All seven of the newly-named Godparents will be among the 22 guests at the christening at St James Palace later this afternoon.
