It's usually Pippa Middleton's big sis Kate, aka the Duchess of Cambridge, who is known for her fashion influence. The Kate Effect has become a familiar phrase in the media thanks to the Duchess's ability to help certain brands' sales go through the roof, as anyone who has tried to buy something they have seen Kate wear will know.
Pippa too has a strong fashion following, but she has taken this one step further with the news that she has collaborated on a dress and scarf with fashion designer Tabitha Webb.
The newspaper columnist has long been a fan of the Brit designer, and is often spotted wearing Webb's feminine dresses to VIP events and weddings. So it makes perfect sense for Pippa's first foray into design to be with someone whom she admires and with a brand she understands. Plus, the collaboration is all about raising money for the British Heart Foundation, for which Pippa is an ambassador. So all in all, it's a good match.
Pippa, who is also a keen cyclist, is also helping money for the charity by participating in the London to Brighton Bike Ride later this month. Whether or not she'll wear the floral dress over lycra remains to be seen though.
'As an Ambassador for the British Heart Foundation, I wanted to do something different and exciting on behalf of this inspiring charity," said Pippa. "I'm really looking forward to taking part in the London to Brighton Bike Ride this month and am thrilled I was able to collaborate with Tabitha on this project to help raise additional funds and awareness for the charity.'
Pippa's silk dress retails at £295, with the matching scarf going for £95, with both available at Tabithawebb.co.uk
