Walking the red carpet at the London premiere of her new flick Tamara Drewe, actress Gemma Arterton was a vision of natural beauty in a stunning cream, floor-length Gucci gown.
Rejecting her signature feline eyeliner and red lips for a more nude look, the gorgeous actress went for a fresh palette of translucent hues, to really show off her enviable skin and natural colourings. She completed her fresh look with a simple ponytail.
Perhaps Gemma’s radical new look is a nod to the character she plays in her new film. The eponymous Tamara Drewe is a high-maintenance city girl with a love of plastic surgery and a penchant for all things high-end. The film follows Tamara as she gives up her materialistic ways to return to a simple life in a tiny Dorset village.
Based on Posy Simmons’ comic strip, which in turn is based on Thomas Hardy’s Far From the Madding Crowd, it’s not the first time Gemma’s played a Hardy character. Her portrayal of Tess in Tess Of The d’Urbervilles back in 2008 won the actress much critical acclaim.
Speaking about her new role, Gemma said: 'She's a little bit saucy and a bit promiscuous, but it was fun playing her.'
Other celebs at the red carpet event included a glowing Lily Allen who showed off her baby bump in a cute black and floral maxi dress. Her mother, Alison Owen produced the movie.
