Money Never Sleeps hits Cannes

Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps premieres at Cannes tonight, and stars Carey Mulligan, Shia le Beouf and Michael Douglas, were looking suitably slick at the film photocall to celebrate

The stars soaked up the French Riviera sun in their smart ensembles, with Carey opting for a smart shift by RM by Roland Mouret over the previous casual frocks she has been working at the film fest.

Money Never Sleeps is the sequel to the 1987 original, and and is set go down a storm, seeing the long-anticipated return of Michael Douglas as its star.

With its plot rooted in the recent financial crisis, we’re sure to see plenty of money-grabbing action to rival its iconic predecessor when it hits cinemas.

Greed is most certainly back on the menu in the flick, as Michael Douglas’ character, Gordon Gekko is released from prison and back on the Wall Street scene. But it’s a case of love versus money for the new-comer Jake, played by Shia LeBeouf, as he vies for the heart of Gekko’s daughter, played by Carey Mulligan, in the role that saw the happy couple meet.
