We all marveled when Miranda Kerr walked for Balenciaga’s SS11 show while pregnant, at how she planned a natural birth without pain relief, and at how quickly she got her enviable curves back after the birth. But the Victoria’s Secret model has now spoken out about the agony of giving birth and how regaining her figure was not her priority now that she’s a mum.
In an interview with Australian InStyle Miranda said of the birth of her son: “I actually though I was going to die at one point and left my body.” Before candidly adding: “I kept thinking, "how do women do this?" But if other women have done this, I can do it too. I was determined.”
Having given birth to a happy and healthy boy, it was clear that modelling was not Miranda’s priority, as she explained: “I thought to myself, "I have so much more that I want to do aside from modelling. I can live with my body not being in shape if I have a healthy son. It’s worth it.
And with Orlando Bloom for a hands-on dad and husband, it seems the couple are really making things work.
