Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom have confirmed that their relationship of six years is over.
The 30-year old Australian model and 36-year old British actor, who live in New York with their two-year old son Flynn, have been living separate lives for several months, and have now decided to go public with the news of their split.
A spokesperson for the couple told E! News: "In a joint statement, Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr have announced that they have been amicably separated for the past few months. After six years together, they have recently decided to formalize their separation."
The statement continued: Despite this being the end of their marriage, they love, support and respect each other as both parents of their son and as family."
Miranda, who is the world’s second-highest paid model, and Lord of the Rings actor Orlando began their relationship in 2007 and married three years later in 2010. Their son Flynn was born in January 2011.
Orlando is currently starring in Romeo and Juliet on Broadway, and the first night of the play in September was the last time the two were seen at a public event together.
Speaking at the time, Miranda said: ‘When I saw Orlando on Broadway in Romeo and Juliet, I was blown away. For someone to be able to learn all that and hold the energy to do it ever day, six days a week – I have so much respect for him.’
