Miley Cyrus has credited Marc Jacobs with introducing her to fashion. In an interview with HungerTV, the Wrecking Ball singer said: “I work a lot with Marc Jacobs. He kind of brought me into fashion when I was 16, that was when I started being around him and learning from him.”
The singer, now arguably more famous for twerking and sticking out her tongue than her music, also said: “He kind of let me inspire some of his pieces,” although, regrettably, she doesn’t specify which.
Favouring a modern punk aesthetic - tight mesh crop tops and heavily ripped denim are Miley staples (not forgetting the undercut) – the singer says her look “has to be sexy and strong… I feel like Marc does that so well.”
“There’s definitely something amazing about being so ladylike yet being so punk and that’s kind of what I am, even if I wear things that aren’t,” Miley continued.
Could there be a Miley/Marc collaboration in the future? With Marc Jacobs leaving his post at Louis Vuitton to focus on his own mainline collection, a Miley Cyrus inspired collection would certainly get everyone talking.
