It's no secret that Miley Cyrus isn't everyone's cup of Earl Grey. From her public Twitter spats with celebrities, to her on stage foam-fingered antics, her behaviour certainly divides opinion.
And this Marmite thinking spreads to the fashion industry, too. Despite the fact that Miley is on pretty much every magazine cover this month, not all designers had caught Miley fever.
In the Spring Summer issue of Love magazine, which Miley covers, editor Katie Grand writes of the difficulty she encountered when trying to get designers to lend the singer clothes for her cover shoot.
'At first I wasn’t sure about Miley. A lot of people aren’t. It was tricky to borrow clothes for the shoot because she seems to divide opinion in a Marmite-esque way.'
'Many people I respect didn’t want to get involved,' continued Grand. 'They thought there was something superficial about her — dangerous, even.'
But since her friendship with Marc Jacobs blossomed into a collaboration — Miley is currently the face of his label — it appears much of the fashion industry is on board with the singer's brand.
Well, if you can't beat them, join them...
